    2019 Resolutions

Hello everyone! I hope that everyone is having a great start to 2019. Our household is having a little bit of a rough start to the new year due to my son and I having a horrible cold. I truly believe that having a toddler while being sick is one of the hardest things to deal with. Luckily my son has been a complete trooper through all of the coughs and sniffles. There has been a lot of laying around and watching Netflix. But after we get over being sick, I plan on working on a few changes with the new year. My resolutions aren’t anything super extravagant, but merely…

    Favorite Holiday Activities

I am definitely in the full Christmas spirit this year! We have decorated our house from top to bottom, and I believe I’ve been listening to Christmas music since October.  But the best part about this time of year is that there are so many fun traditions that we can do as a family.  Here are my top activities that we do as a family during the holiday season.  Disney on Ice: This year we took our son to the Disney on Ice show that comes to Denver every year. It is super fun for the whole family and reasonably priced. James was probably a little young to sit through the…

How We Afford For Me to Be a Stay-At-Home Mom

Before I had James, I was always searching on how others were able to afford to be stay-at-home moms. I knew that when I had a baby I would want to stay home with them and not put them in daycare. And honestly, I got a little frustrated and disappointed because the only articles that I ever found were people that had a $500 rent payment and one clunky car that barely ran. They lived in small towns where things like gas and houses were super cheap and a daily commute was five minutes…I wish! That lifestyle wasn’t even possible for us if we wanted to stay in Colorado! Where…

    Five Gift Ideas for Toddlers

Today I’m sharing part of my son’s Christmas toy wish list! Sometimes it can be difficult (especially when you don’t have kids) to know what to buy for younger children. Well I have found that my toddler boy loves cars, trains, interactive books, and animal playsets! So here’s five toy ideas to put under the tree for the toddlers in your life this year.   Playskool Mr. Potato Head Silly Suitcase How cute is this Mr. Potato Head? I think my son would love playing with this because of all of the parts and learning opportunities. He is currently starting to learn and identify the different body parts, so this toy…

    Easy Halloween Treats

Hello everyone! I can’t believe that Halloween is this week! I’m excited to see if James gets into Trick-or-Treating this year or not. He might not really understand what it’s all about yet, but it will still be fun to see him in his little costume. This last weekend we had some family over to carve pumpkins and celebrate with some fun Halloween treats! I found these recipes on Pinterest and wasn’t sure how they would turn out, but I think they turned out super cute! The best part is that these recipes were super easy. Mummy Oreo Pops: These were a hit at our house! These little mummies were adorable…

    5 Great Books for Toddlers

I love reading books with my son! Reading is very important for developing minds and it is a great way to spend  some quiet time together. The only problem is that sometimes (or all of the time) our busy toddlers don’t want to sit still and read a book! So how do we encourage reading with our busy little toddlers? I have found that these interactive books make my toddler want to sit down and engage in the story. Here is a list of 5 great interactive books for busy little ones! 1. Poke-A-Dot! An Alphabet Eye Spy: This book is great at getting toddlers interested with its fun little popping raised…

    Farm Fall Festival

Good morning! I’m so glad that we made it to the Littleton Museum pumpkin patch yesterday, because today it’s snowing and freezing outside! My family and I love the pumpkin patch at this location. It has gorgeous scenery and a lot of fun activities for the kids! They have a bunch of farm animals, a wagon ride, performers, and great treats like pumpkin muffins! There are also a ton of great pumpkins to choose from! James mainly wanted to look at the animals and large farm equipment! He wasn’t too impressed with the pumpkins. But overall we had a lot of fun and the weather was perfect! 🙂 I got…

    NICU Mommy Tips

When my son James was born he was immediately sent to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit due to unusual breathing. Initially, they said that they were just going to check him out, but to make a long story short, he ended up staying in the NICU for eight days. Those eight days were extremely difficult in many ways for my husband, baby, and myself. Here are some tips that I would give a new parent that has a baby in the NICU: Tip #1: Don’t Blame Yourself The thought definitely crossed my mind that it was somehow my fault that James was in the NICU, but it wasn’t. Sometimes things…

    Fun at Anderson Farms

Every year I look forward to our family annual trip to the pumpkin patch! I literally start counting down the days in August. My family and I usually go to an adorable patch at the Littleton Museum (which we still plan on going to), but this year we decided to venture out and try a new pumpkin patch/fall festival location. We went to Anderson Farms in Erie, Colorado, and it was so much fun! There were a ton of activities for my nieces and 20 month old son to enjoy. We did a corn maze, petting zoo, and played on the multiple playground areas that they had! James had a…
