Hello everyone! I hope that everyone is having a great start to 2019. Our household is having a little bit of a rough start to the new year due to my son and I having a horrible cold. I truly believe that having a toddler while being sick is one of the hardest things to deal with. Luckily my son has been a complete trooper through all of the coughs and sniffles. There has been a lot of laying around and watching Netflix. But after we get over being sick, I plan on working on a few changes with the new year. My resolutions aren’t anything super extravagant, but merely some areas in my life that I would like to see change. So here are my 2019 New Year’s resolutions!
Put Down Technology! This is one thing that I really want to work on this year. I really want to limit our time on cellphones, iPads, and computers. I can admit that we spend a lot of time on our iPhones…like a lot of time. And the one thing that I notice is that I’m usually looking at something that doesn’t truly matter. This year I want to put down my cellphone and spend more time in the “real” world. I’m not going to remember that random friend’s status update in a year, but I will remember watching my son laugh hysterically at our dog.
Drink More Water My mother would be proud of this one. She is always telling me to drink more water, and honestly I think she’s right! I know that I walk around dehydrated 99% of the time. I am a girl that can chug a caffeinated Starbucks latte, but can barely sip water. My goal is to carry around a water cup with me at all times to remember to drink more water!
Enjoy the Moment This year I want to remember to live in the now. We always looks back and say that “those were the good ole’ days”. Well I want today to be the good days! I don’t want to wish my life away because I know that I’m going to miss these times now. There will be days that I’m going to be exhausted or annoyed that I’m cleaning up spilled chocolate milk off the couch, but for the most part I want to enjoy the moment. There’s a song by Trace Adkins called “You’re Gonna Miss This” that truly sums up living in the moment, and that is one thing that I want to focus on in the new year.
And that’s it! Those are the few things that I want to work on this year. I’m not planning on training for a marathon or writing a novel, even though that would be awesome haha. I just want to be a little bit healthier and focus on less time wasted on technology. I think we all get caught up in the rat race, and we tend to forget the small things in life. I’m looking forward to all of the new and exciting things that 2019 has in store for all of us!
Hope everyone has a great week!
Until next time,
